The Real Story of WYD..

In a flash of light and sound that reverberates through your bones, you finally arrive at the Great City of Armia. Ears still ringing, you look around, tightly clutching the tattered note. You are greeted by a sea of unfamiliar faces, most with looks that are as lost as yours. The teleportation didn't leave you naked, but it didn't provide anything more than meager provisions to ensure today’s survival . A quick check in your backpack garnered only some old garbs, a frail weapon and a few potions. You realize that getting additional provisions and better equipment are needed to endure in this strange land.

The streets are already filled with people. A soft winds blows through the crowded streets, caressing your skin with its cool breeze. But the wind bites, persuading you to pull your ragged clothes closer to your body. The thought of curling up and sitting in a warm corner beside a hearth seems very appealing at this moment, though you're not sure if it's the cold or... the loneliness.

Then, right at that moment, you suddenly remembered the dream.

What a strange dream it was! You remember standing on a desolate land that seemed to be shrouded with doom. Those... beasts. They kept coming...hordes of them, driving a lone warrior to the end of a mountain plateau. The warrior tirelessly swinging his sword in deadly arcs in a desperate attempt to slay the mishappen and malformed beasts, or at the very least intimidate them into submission. But there were just too many of them, constantly pushing him nearer and nearer to the edge of the cliff.

As swiftly as the winds changed flow, you suddenly realized that the eyes of the hideous creatures seemed to be staring right into yours! Confused, you look around for the warrior, and then cold reason crept in. You are the warrior. For a moment, you are stunned by the abrupt turn of events. But death does not wait and the monstrous horde immediately acts on this fatal opening in your defense. Your instincts save you and you frantically swing your blade in a vain attempt to imitate what the warrior did moments ago. Strangely, the blade felt familiar, your movements fluid and precise, as if you had spent many years training with the weapon. Yet your efforts proved futile and you are unable to hold back the unending tide of sharp claws and teeth. A brutish claw rakes your side, shredding the armor and biting deeply into your flesh. You collapse to the hard ground grimacing in pain. Blood flows and the pain increases. You try to drive it away and will yourself to stand up. But before you can raise your blade, another blow knocks you off the edge of the cliff -- but not before you managed to desperately grab onto the ledge.

You look down and you only see darkness. A sure death if you fall. You try to repress your fears, to find a way to climb back up. But the cries and howls of the approaching beasts were terrible to hear, eating away your resolve. You feel your bloodied fingers slipping and hope with it.

You close your eyes, waiting for the Reaper to claim your life.

Suddenly, a powerful explosion shook the ground, almost causing you to lose your grip. Deafening screams could be heard from the beasts above, and you feel intense cold blue fire brush against your fingers.

Total silence.

You look up expecting to see Hel, the Goddess of Death. Instead, a female form stretches out her hands, and with a firm grasp on your arm, she pulls you up. Dark raven hair framed her pale face, but she was no mistress of the underworld... her warm smile told you that. For a brief moment, you see the image of the grateful warrior reflected in her beautiful eyes.

Swirling clouds and flashes of movement coalesced into images of another figure speeding through a dark forest. This combatant was not decked in hard metal armor. Instead, he is clothed in soft animal leather with the head of a lion as his helm. A mob of aggressive creatures are pursuing him furiously. He rusn into the middle of a clearing, and stepped into an ambush. Would he share the same fate as the mighty warrior?

As if to answer your question, the fighter swiftly transformed into a gigantic black bear and decimated his enemies with sheer ferocity, powerful arms, teeth and claw. Could he be one of the legendary druids? You find this utterly remarkable!

The dream fades to replaced by another. You see the three heroes marching up a hill overlooking a village. A quaint hamlet that seemed familiar even though you had never laid eyes on it before.

The three companions stood for a moment on the hillock, and watched as a large shadow began to spread across the landscape and the village. Across the valley, thick black clouds formed menacingly in the sky while a figure in dark robes stood in the center of the tempest. You feel the hairs on your neck stand. Magic! You feel the intense power building up as the dark robed man makes complex gestures with his glowing hands. And from out of the ether, he summons a magnificent but terrible dragon! The creature breaths in and exhales unleashing a torrent of terrible fire and destruction all around. The village is consumed in a terrible furnace burning brick, mortar, wood, stone and flesh. All traces of life are annihilated…

Or so you think... The dream fades after that.

Still standing in the town square, you ponder the significance of the dream for a moment. The city noise brings you out of your reverie, and you look towards the racket that seems to grow louder every minute. A huge crowd of people are gathering at the gate on the east side of town. From the chatter, you manage to hear something being muttered about wild boars lurking outside the town. Naturally, curiosity takes over and you walk to the milling crowd to inspect.

" Training grounds", the sign read. Above the murmurings of the crowd, you hear cries of boars and a few other unrecognizable animals from beyond the gate. Looking at the note in your hand again, you read the same line which you have done a hundred times before: "Achieve your Supreme Destiny". As you read the last word, you feel something different and the hairs on your neck rise! Smoke starts issuing from the note and you quickly drop it lest your fingers be burned. How in Hekaloth did it catch fire? There wasn't a flame-brand around for yards. As the smoke finally disappears, you quickly retrieve the note from the ground and looked at it in amazement. There was now a strange symbol on the back of the note: two golden letters spelling S and D, surrounded by intricate silvery-grey knots.

You ponder what just happened. If this is some sort of omen, then it is as clear as someone who had just yelled to your ear what you were supposed to do. But then, omens were never a good way of telling what needed to be done. Still, this has firmed your resolve. You take your frail weapon out of your pack, swinging it around a few times to test its heft and balance. Then you take your meager rations and potions.

Roasted boar sounds good to you and it's almost dinner time anyway. You chuckle to yourself as you head out to the gate.

WYD GLOBAL THE PROLOGUE

In the Beginning, after Heaven and Earth were created, the first Elder race called High Men communed with the Supreme Being. The Seraphim, angels acting as agents on behalf of the Supreme Being, were given the task of helping the High Men build the foundations of their civilization. These High Men were given the Continent to live freely where they choose and were constantly aided and guarded by the Seraphim against the dangers of the wilderness.

As their numbers grew, the High Men began to assemble in factions, which in time progressed into whole nations. With help of the Seraphs, these men studied and developed the intricate Arts and Sciences of the world, as well as the Arcane and Natural forms of magic. Theology and Technology went hand-in-hand. Peace, prosperity and wonders undreamed of were created. This was known as the Age of Glory. The High Men grew more in God’s favor and thus they were given more dominion over the lands.

But all was not well in Hekaloth, the Supreme Being’s Heavenly Abode.

Harden, one of the mightiest Seraphs in Hekaloth, grew jealous of the High Men and began to sow envy among his fellow angelic beings.

He saw High Men as lesser beings, weaklings incapable of independence and unworthy of God’s grace. Very soon this envy escalated to pure hatred, and gathering his angelic followers, Harden led a rebellion against God.

Thus, the Great Heavenly War began.

The war was unexpected and great destruction was wrought in Hekaloth. It was unclear whether God’s Angelic Hosts would be triumphant against the rebelling Seraphs. Many angels fell on both sides.

The tide finally turned to the favor of the Hosts loyal to the Supreme Being when Archangel Kafma, the Creator’s greatest warrior led the charge. Through his zeal he brought fear to the hearts of the rebels, and through his flaming sword, slew more than any other. The rebelling Seraphs, were vanquished, and banished from the abode of Hekhaloth. Before he could be captured, Harden fled before Kafma’s victorious but depleted Angelic Hosts and escaped to Earth.

As the war was being fought in the Heavens, its repercussions spread throughout the whole of creation. As the angels fought each other, the Men in the lands began to wonder about their very existence. Doubt began to grow in their hearts, and since there was no angel to seek counsel from, the Men turned to their limited reason and knowledge. They started to believe their own measly explanations about the universe, and Theology was highly neglected.

As the warring Angelic hosts battled each other, the essence of slain angels fell to the Earth, and the newborn during that dark time acquired the powers of the Seraphs. With no one to guide them, these Men endowed with new-found powers built a civilization based on this Magic . They grew in power and influenced the men to challenge the Supreme Being’s laws.

One such Man born with Seraph powers was Koren, a powerful magician from the great city of Neses. He allied himself with Harden, who had fled from the Great Heavenly War. They created a creature called Hyper-Monster, an artificial monster formed from the remains of the strongest creatures of creation. Together with their minions they attacked Armia, the center of God’s faithful on Earth, and proceeded to conquer the entire continent as well. The High Men and the few Angels faithful to the Supreme Being were no match against the magic and power of Harden and his Hyper-Monster.

The War finally came to Earth.

The Continent was overrun by vicious and violently evil beings. They slaughtered every living creature they came across and the last remnants of High Men were driven and purged from the Continent.

Only darkness separated the ground from the sky.

The Great Heavenly War depleted the Forces of the Supreme Being and this new war stretched their forces far too thin and so they retreated. And with a finality that echoed through the cosmos, the great Sephirotte, the bridge connecting Heaven to Earth, closed its gates.

With the Supreme Being’s forces in retreat, there was no one to contest Harden’s evil and brutal rule over the wasted Earth. He started to build a tower to reach the gates of Heaven and called it The Tower of Retaliation. These were truly dark and evil times and for four hundred years chaos reigned and Harden’s Tower neared completion.

But hope remains. Small groups of Men began to appear, claiming to hail from Armia. For some divine reason they were spared from the terrors of Harden, and are now ready to face the malevolent world. Each one had the same mission: restore Mankind back to the Age of Glory; and bring back peace upon the Earth. Each one also dreamt of achieving their ultimate fate, and master the very power that was endowed upon them.

And so the quest for one’s Supreme Destiny begins.

WYD GLOBAL CHARACTERS HISTORY..

In my years as Armia’s Weapons Master, I have met some truly wondrous combatants. I have seen warriors cleave through tough demon armor, ripping bone and flesh in one swing. I have witnessed these warriors aided by women that draw magic from nature and wield it in battle. More amazing are men that transform into the gigantic bears and crush their enemies with razor sharp claws and teeth. I have battled side-by-side with warrior women who can track down larger evil foes with cunning and wrath.

The land is fraught with danger and evil. You will need my guidance if you are to seek your fate and rid the world of this pestilence of terror. I will tell you about these wondrous warriors and what they can do. After that, may the Supreme Being guide you in your chosen fate.

Transknight

Heavenly powers and strong faith have given the Transknight the power to use Area of Effect (AoE) damage to groups of monster. A TransKnight with Divine mastery can diminish his opponent's abilities as well as enhancing his own inherent abilities.

The Transknight's inner power is harnessed via Trans mastery. These skills are designed to inflict as much damage as possible, even to the point of sacrificing the Transknight's life essence.

The students of the school of the Mystic Blade mastery utilize the elements around themselves to imbue their weapon with additional power.

Foema

These tribal Magicians are blessed with skills to draw power from nature. They have been studying the heraldry arts for generations and many hope to refine it.

Although they may not have the strongest physical condition, they are able to unleash massive destructive magic in battle, turning the tide in favor of their allies.

Beastmaster

The Beastmaster relies upon the forces of nature to assist him in the heat of battle. Few can match and withstand the Elemental energy of the fearsome Beastmaster.

When his weapons and spells are insufficient, the Beastmaster summons his animal companions to aid him. Even the mighty dragons heed this Summoner’s call for aid.

His proximity to Nature has given the Beastmaster the ability to change to another form to enhance his battle abilities. Both animal and demon shapes can be used by this high-level shapeshifter.

Huntress

The Huntress uses her Survival skills to maximum effect against enemies. Close combat abilities allow her to get in, accomplish her mission and escape from dangerous situations with the least personal risk.

Such is her cunning and cleverness that she can obtain better prices from NPC merchants when selling and buying items. She also has the ability to access her Cargo from the open field.

But her true talents lie in her Capture skills, thus her namesake. Few enemies can withstand the damage dealt to them when she is on their trail. Her cunning use of her weapons and the environment ensures victory most of the time.
